Terms of Use

These terms explain what 5TIN is, what you agree to when you use it, and what we may and may not do with what you post.

Pre-launch draft — operator details will be added before public launch. This page is a pre-launch draft and is not legal advice.

What 5TIN is

5TIN is a web service for sharing meaningful videos of no more than 15 seconds. Feeds are finite: there is a daily limit on how much you are shown, and the app tells you when you are caught up. There is no private messaging, no inbox and no group chat.

Posts belong to one of five categories — THINK, SHOW, ASK, TELL, REMEMBER — and you can Keep, comment on, Respond to, Pass On or Share what other people post.

Who can use 5TIN

You must be at least 18 years old to use 5TIN. You confirm your date of birth when you create an account, and we may prevent access if we cannot establish that you meet the age requirement.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details to yourself, use accurate information, and do not create an account on someone else's behalf without their permission. You are responsible for what happens through your account.

Your content stays yours

You keep copyright in everything you upload. By posting, you grant 5TIN a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, encode, transcode, thumbnail, display, distribute and recommend your content — strictly to the extent needed to operate the service and its features, including Keep, Pass On, Respond and Share, and to comply with the law.

The licence ends when you delete the content, apart from copies we must keep for a limited time for backups, security or legal obligations. Other users do not acquire ownership or any right to reuse your content commercially.

Community Guidelines

The Community Guidelines form part of these terms and describe what may and may not be posted.

Moderation and how decisions are made

Uploads are checked by automated systems before publication. Automated checks may prevent a video from being published. Where a check is uncertain, an independent second automated pass is used. Because these checks are automated, they are applied conservatively and they can be wrong.

When something is not published or is later removed, you are told what happened, the policy area involved where we have that information, and that automated means were used. Where the rejection concerns content assessment rather than a technical problem such as a failed duration check, you may request one further automated review of the same submission.

We do not promise individual human review of moderation decisions at launch, and we do not publish internal review data, prompts or scores.

Reporting content

Anyone, with or without an account, can report content they believe is unlawful through the notice form. Copyright and other intellectual-property claims go through the same route; see Copyright & IP. Signed-in users can also report a post from within the app.

Promotion

Promotion is an optional, one-off paid service at €5, €10 or €25 for a single post. A promoted post is clearly labelled Promoted.

Promotion buys additional distribution only, and the reach shown or implied is an estimate, not a guaranteed outcome. Paying never buys verification, trust, reputation, follower growth, Keep counts or a better organic ranking, and it never changes moderation decisions. Promoted posts are held to the Community Guidelines at least as strictly as ordinary posts.

If you are a consumer: withdrawal

If you buy a promotion as a consumer, you generally have 14 days to withdraw. If you ask us to start the promotion during that period and then withdraw, you may have to pay for the part already provided; once the promotion has been fully provided, the right to withdraw is lost where you asked for immediate performance and acknowledged that consequence. Full information and the withdrawal form are on the withdrawal page.

Changes, suspension and ending use

We may change or discontinue features. Significant changes to these terms will be communicated to users before they take effect, and continuing to use 5TIN after that means you accept them.

You can stop using 5TIN at any time and request deletion of your account from your account settings. We may restrict, suspend or end an account where these terms or the Community Guidelines are seriously or repeatedly broken, or where the law requires it.

Liability

5TIN is provided as-is to the extent the law allows. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Law and disputes

Finnish law applies. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live, and you keep any right you have under mandatory law to bring proceedings in the courts of your own place of residence. Consumers may also use the dispute-resolution bodies available to them locally.

Document version draft-2026-08. 5TIN is not yet publicly launched, so this text is a draft and may change before launch. Significant changes will be communicated to users.
